1220 W Imperial Hwy is on a list of Safeway stores from 1985. My first thought when I saw the pictures was that it was a Marina Safeway and I have at least half of that right and I bet I'm right that it was a Marina.

It seemed a pretty obvious Safeway to me as well, albeit a substantially altered one. I'm wondering if the towers and the oh so generic stucco job came before or after its conversion. I'm guessing after, but Safeway has converted lots of Marinas into similar aesthetic nightmares.
