Just discovered this while trying to do a Google search for a different town named Helena in a different state:

(Also wow, doing a search on here, I posted a Flickr link about 19 years ago of a marina Safeway in town, not sure if it was on the site of the current Safeway at 11th and North Montana that that page says has had a store on it since 1962)

Per the article, the Front Street store (which looks pretty fab) closed in 1969 and was remodeled as state offices. That makes sense as the building currently looks about as 1969 as it possibly could!
Via historicaerials.com, the 11th and Montana store looks to have been torn down between 1995 and 2002, presumably when the current store was constructed a bit to the east.
