Just a couple quick snaps of a store that was a Thriftway IGA for many years until the mid/late '90s when the IGA chain seemed to disappear from the area. Now it's a sports bar. Not sure if this building had been another store prior to the IGA. It's not visible in these pics, but this store also had an entrance from the sidewalk.

Looks like it could be an old "pylon" Safeway.

This was definately a Safeway. I was in this store in the late 70's--early 80's.....before it became an IGA.

Sad to say, this cool old building was utterly destroyed by the tornado. Nothing stands there now except an empty lot.
