The Big Lots at 299 S Borchard Dr. in Ventura looks like a Safeway from the 1950s. Anyone know if it was?

Good call. The store was indeed a Safeway, originally 30,000 sqft, from 1955. At the time it was the largest Safeway in Ventura County.
