Lander, Wyoming high school which...I found through a Safeway/Wyoming google searching, making me think this might be a former store:

Here's a Nebraska location from the 1930s or 1940s:

Castle Rock, CO location now home to the Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists:

Falsefronted marina in Lakewood, CO now operating as Slammer's Bingo:

Former marina in Woodlawn Shopping Center, Littleton, CO, built in 1970 and closed in 1984:

About 1970 it built an entirely new store in the design that Safeway was using for all its new stores, using a high roof with flaring eves. It was built just south of the old store which continued to operate until the new one was finished. Then the old one was torn down. Safeway closed its Woodlawn store in 1984.

Doing a Denver library search...

Broadway and 11th, 1928. Note that, like the modern "high density" store concept of today, this Safeway was located at the base of an apartment building:

A drive-in in Edgewater, with the Safeway sign in the distance (but very hard to see):

Drive-in's long gone, but the Safeway building looks to be still there:

From a search in the Library of Congress website...a 1940s store in Denver, at 3033 W Alameda:

That appears to be a remod of the Chadron or Scottsbluff Store. The Scottsbluff Safeway had a 70s exterior and a 90s interior.

I'm gonna lean toward Scottsbluff.

Wandering around Cheyenne tonight (this town has SO many cool old signs and structures), I took a night shot of the old Safeway.

We don't have enough night shots around here.

Hardees still open in Cheyenne? Laramie one closed in early Sept. I suspect Cheyenne may be my first and only Hardees experience. Cheyenne is one great town. I wish I had spent more time there.

That's a good question. I drove right by it but didn't pay attention as it was Thanksgiving night and it would have been closed anyway.

It's still listed on the Hardee's website. There's two listed in Casper as well.

**EDIT 11/30** - It's open.

Here's a former Safeway, in the gull wing marina design, in Littleton:
