Safeway-100th Anniversary-1926-2026

The Safeway grocery store chain is promoting its 100th anniversary in the circular for the week beginning April 29, 2026.
Not an entirely accurate anniversary for them, as 1926 actually just marks the merger of the Safeway Stores (formerly Sam Seelig, established 1911 in LA) and the Skaggs Cash Stores (established 1915 in Idaho). The Safeway brand name was established in 1925.
Over the years they've celebrated anniversaries based on a founding date of anywhere from 1915 to 1928. I know it's kind of a confusing history but it would be nice if they'd pick a date and stick with it...
