An advertisement in the "Contra Costa Times," October 12, 1977 edition for Ralphs supermarkets includes these locations in the East Bay region:

Walnut Creek: 1372 S. California
San Leandro: 14845 East 14th Street
Hayward: 20882 Mission Blvd.
Concord: 2691 Monument Blvd.
Concord: 4545 Clayton Road
San Pablo: 13110 San Pablo Ave.
Fremont: 41077 Fremont Blvd.

The presence of Ralphs in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1970s must've been short-lived.

Ralphs re-entered the San Francisco Bay Area market briefly in 1999 when it acquired a couple of Albertson's locations that Albertson's divested as part of its takeover of Lucky. Ralphs took over Albertson's stores in Livermore and Dublin. In late 2002, Nob Hill Foods (Raley's chain) took over the Livermore Ralph's store. I think they got up to about 20 stores in the bay area around 1980. They weren't in Sacramento.

There was a store in Los Altos too. Current Lucky. Open as Lucky now. 2175 Grant. This store was originally liquor license 90072 received by Lucky on 5/13/1980.

I think there may have been a store in Novato but I am not sure where.

There was also a store in Cupertino, that one made it to Lucky, but is closed now. 10425 S. De Anza. This store was originally liquor license 90068 received by Lucky on 5/13/1980.

So going off of the liquor licenses it appears in addition to the above, the following locations were received by Lucky in May 1980:
20882 Mission Blvd., Hayward - appears this closed in 2007 under Albertsons LLC.
3510 Homestead, Santa Clara- appears this closed in 2007 under Albertsons LLC but I thought this was briefly a Lucky again
1675 Tully Road, San Jose- closed as Albertsons in 2004
1322 Saratoga Road, San Jose- closed under Albertsons LLC in 2007

Ralphs entered the East Bay in 1972 by acquiring seven LoRay stores (I remembered it was an acquisition but I couldn’t remember the name of the original chain so I had to look it up.) The initial stores were located in Concord (2), San Pablo, Hayward, Fremont, San Leandro, and Walnut Creek per the Oakland Tribune.
