Jerry's Market on Melrose in LA

Does anyone have info on the supermarket featured in the movie Double Indemnity (1944)? While the interior shots of the supermarket were on a set, the exterior shots were, I believe, shot at Jerry's Market 5330 Melrose, Ave., Los Angeles. I haven't found anything in the LA times. It does seem like "Jerry's Market" was the original name, but I'm not finding anything on-line.
