1971 Film of Supermarket Interior

Post by Jason B. »

Can anyone figure out to which supermarket chain the store in this film belonged? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoJFPa3wfJ0 The year is listed as 1971. The produce department had international flags hanging over it. International flags also are displayed throughout the store. A banner touts "The 7-day milk diet features Fruits and Vegetables LOOK FOR FREE DIET BOOKLETS." Frito-Lay snacks are displayed at aisle end. The milk carton display at 2:32 might narrow down the supermarket chain (someone might recognize the style). This might have been shot around Easter because a sign says, "Happy Easter" at 3:37. A sign at 4:08 says "John's." Legg's pantyhose displays are seen. The presence of a Van de Kamp's bakery display might help to narrow down the part of the country. A long banner says, "LOW, LOW PRICES ON 10,000 ITEMS Plus BLUE CHIP STAMPS." There is a close-up shot of a cash register. The check-out stands have short conveyor belts. "Wilco" is seen in a shopping cart/wagon at 5:31.

It's a Roger Wilco market, which was a small chain in Marin and Sonoma counties. It shouldn't be too hard to narrow down the specific location.
