The Jones Film Collection at Southern Methodist University (SMU) apparently includes news film from WFAA-TV (channel 8/Dallas). A December 1976 WFAA-TV news story about commercial signage includes images of the exterior of a Safeway store. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO3jqMKfJFI Go to 1:11 The store appears to be a Marina design. I know nothing about the store location or history. I assume that it is in or near "Knox Village" in Dallas based on other signage near the Safeway store. I assume that the "Groceteria" community might be able to make an exact identification of the store location.

Well, a good place to start might be right here on the site, which indicates there was a Safeway store located at 3104–3106 Knox St. for many years, with the building likely replaced at some point.
