Fresno Area - 1980s - Foodland Chain

Does anyone know about the history of the "Foodland" chain in the Fresno area? I am curious if it was connected with other "Foodland" stores elsewhere in the U.S.A. (such as in Hawai'i). I stopped at one in the Fresno area in June of 1981. It was somewhere in the State Route 180 corridor (probably on or near the Kings Canyon Road corridor), easterly of State Route 99, on the way toward Kings Canyon National Park. This would've been the old SR 180 before the freeway was constructed. My family got lost traversing Fresno on the old SR 180 and ended up at the Foodland store to try to find directions.
