Its encouraging to see when there is an interest in repurposing a classic old Safeway, in this case a Marina store located at 2230 East Sprague Street in Spokane. The store operated from 1966 to the mid 1980's according to my sources, the store closed as it became unprofitable. The old store housed Washington Bingo Charity for many years. The Spokane Historical society wrote a nice piece about the building's history that I will provide the link, there was a strong desire to save it but the building was razed to build a clinic for infants.
