I was googling around and found this comprehensive history of the Ralphs Grocery Company. Apparently it comes from International Directory of Company Histories, Vol. 35.

A couple of things that are missing are the consolidation with Alpha Beta in the Yucaipa merger and the consolidation with Hughes in the Fred Meyer merger. But other than that it seems rather complete.

Good site to bookmark. Thanks! I looked at the history of Ukrop's and it is pretty good as well, with footnotes and everything!
