Safeway Stores in Northeast Colorado

Safeway operates a very odd store in Burlington, CO. I have posted photos here:

It is like two little gables put together. The inside flows unlike a typical SWY and the store reminds me more of an independent than anything else. The wall letters appeared to be metal? Also, the store is only open 8 AM to 8 PM. It also has a very small parking lot. I figured this was simply a very old Safeway, perhaps early 1950's... until I drove and found an obvious gable former Safeway (now the Post Office) at approximately 249 14th St. in Burlington. This is odd as that building definitely looks like a former Safeway, and appears to be newer than the current operating Safeway in Burlington?

Also saw a former Safeway now a hardware store (it is empty in the Google map view) in Holyoke, CO at 128 South Campbell. I wonder when they left that town?

I also went into a store at 222 Cedar Street in Julesburg, CO now an independent. A very altered former Safeway where someone added a hardware store to half of the front, but inside has the Safeway late 70's or early 80's large italic wall letters and brown paneling with some red in the meat department. The walls were repainted white.

I have seen that exact interior somewhere else and I can't recall where. When I have a little more time, I'll dig through my pictures and see if I can find it.

Burlington, CO Safeway is about to be replaced. In a few days.

They took over a Shopko Pamida building in Burlington and are moving into it.

Would be nice if they kept the old logo signs... but something tells me no.
