Dollar Tree (Kroger?) 3060 Sussex Ave, Pittsburgh

Just guessing. It's also across the street from an abandoned labelscarred Foodland.

Kroger usually used a uniform roofline, but favored red or buff colored brick. Kroger tended to go for a full set of windows or, in rather small urban locations, windows along the top of the front (over display cases). It's difficult to tell how much of the front was bricked over and how much would have been windows (there could have been 2 periods of bricking).

Another possibility would be Loblaw (later Del Farm). A&P wouldn't be out of line either--they used a lot of red brick and sometimes did something artistic with it, although the 1950s "wings" and round logo might have stuck around long enough to leave a label scar.

This doesn't look like an Acme or the Thorofare prototypes I've seen and it's probably too old for Giant Eagle. Foodland has a long history in Pittsy, so it even could have been built as an independent, depending on the age of the store across the street.
