I was in this store last year.....very ghetto like. But I did get several interior photos and exterior photos....all the Safeway wall graphics are there as well as the original aisle markers. I'll see if I can get these photos to David in the next week or two.
It was pretty trashy inside and out....But took me way back.....reminded me of shopping at the same type of store in Edmond, Oklahoma when I was six years old......my mom worked there as a meat wrapper. That would have been about 1963. If only there had been some Duz detergent and packages of Fizzies..........

Aww, I was in that store earlier this year and thought it was fine. I mean, beautifully dated, but it was clean.

Standing in the produce department I felt like I had fallen into an episode of Mad Men.

This store makes an appearance in the film "Sunshine Cleaners." You get to see the exterior signage and quite a bit of the (fantastic) interior signage as well.

Sadly, this store closed a few months ago. I was in Albuquerque last week and the interior is still illuminated in the evening; it seems most of that original Safeway wall signage, etc. was gone.
