It was mentioned here a while back that a Safeway episode somewhere in Hawaii figured prominently in a 1987 episode of Magnum PI. I finally caught that episode and did lots of video captures, a couple of which are below.

Anyone know which store this might be? I assume it's on Oahu, but I don't really know. Looks like early to mid 1980s vintage.

I believe it's store #215, Hawaii Kai store. It no longer looks like that as its been upgraded to the "lifestyle" format.

No falling oranges?

I didn't know until I joined that there are Safeways in Hawaii.

It was the Mililani store, which has updated a bit now, though still has the same roof line.
I'm in the crowd out front during the hit and run scene.
