Stores form Galax, VA and Max Meadows, VA 2006.
The Food Country looks like it may have been a Winn Dixie although the inside looks like a Food Lion layout.
I think the Food City was always a Food City.

The Food Country looks more like Food Lion than Winn-Dixie, Winn-Dixie generally stuck to red and brown brick. It looks newer than the typical Winn-Dixie of that size, Food Lion's typical stores is still in the 25000-30000 sq. ft range. The Food City is typical of K-VA-T Food City stores in Southwest Virgina, Northeastern Tennessee and Southeast Kentucky. The third store looks vaguely like an old Colonial/Big Star or Piggly Wiggly.
Food City is the leader in the Tri-Cities of Tennessee-Virginia and sponsors the Bristol 500. Recent acquisitions from Winn-Dixie and BiLo have given them a major presence in Knoxville, TN. Food Lions presence in the same region is spotty and scattered, having contracted its presence in the late 90's.
