Anyone know what this was? It's at Alamo Drive near I-80, on the intersection with Butcher Road.

I don't know what that location previously was.

When I visited Vacaville in January 2005, I recall seeing an independent grocer in a 1960s style building further north on Alamo near Monte Vista. I wonder if that location was once a chain.

In downtown Vacaville I believe that there is a former Safeway Marina-style store that is now a fitness club. I think there's even a swimming pool there, but I may be thinking of a different supermarket-to-fitness club conversion.

I see a big shopping center at Alamo and Merchant (on the north side of I-80) - is that what you're thinking of? Or is it the smaller shopping center at Alamo and Buck?

Since we're broadening the topic a bit, I wonder: do you know what the former tenant was for 99 Cents Only on Peabody Road? Storewanderer did a bit of research and found out that that was a proposed Smith's site (yes, Smith's, the Kroger-owned chain) years ago, and the building was empty as recently as a few years back.
