Thrifty Drug Store on southwest corner of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Shows Streamline Moderne building, A & P Market (right); automobiles at curbside; man on motorcycle at stop sign. Los Angeles; ca. 1945.

The stop sign is actually a 2-lens traffic light with the STOP & GO blades (how long did those last in LA?)

Neat photo...notice that Thrifty and A&P shared the same sign pylon!

I take there were no "colonial" A&Ps in California
