There is quite a bit of information that can be found about the Wedgwood Safeway in Seattle on 35th Avenue NE.
Safeway began entertaining building a new store from the ground up in the 1940s and by 1951 was completed. Records show that not one person objected to permitting the new store. The site must have been profitable because by 1965 the old store was razed and a new Marina store opened. Attaching fun pictures that show the site before the store was built which resembled rural farm land, and the 1965 store that remains today with its external Marina appearance gone but internal features remain.

justin provided a picture of the back of the Wedgwood Safeway, this store would be razed in 1965 to be replaced with the current Marina store built against the back of the lot placing parking in the front of the store, notice the Safeway signage that was popular in the 1950s throughout the Safeway chain U.S. and Canada
