Not a common design but I am familiar with this format as well as another format at the time that had the "Penn Fruit" "Marina" huge arch in front. From the photo the square footage looks huge for the time (50,000 sqft?). Food Fair often hired famous architects to design experime...

The Fredrick's name was still in existence in the 1970's.

Side note: These Fredrick's Supermarkets retained their name until their conversion to Pantry Pride.

Most of them had the Fredricks name on the building itself with the traditional Food Fair "tower" sign in the parking lot.

And...........the last Pantry Pride built was in Sunny Isles (northern Miami Beach Fl.) in 1991.

It was about 40,000 sq. ft. and was called Pantry Pride Food Emporium.

Does anyone have info on what this store was originally? It is on the 1600 block of Ocean Park Bl. in Santa Monica.

Also on the same side of the street going west is a Moose Lodge with a domed roof that looks like a supermarket. (1600 Ocean Park Bl.).

The A9 shots do not give a good perpective.
