Re: LA Cafeterias
The former Cliftons Greenery in West Covina is now part of the Sears store next door. They keep it stocked with Appliances and such. Hey Jeff~ Is the building still there? While whizzing by on the 10 last week...I looked...and couldn't see the old Greenery building. Did I miss it?! Wild to see the ...

Re: HOWS closing all but one site
The Pasadena store was a Ralphs location prior.
I was not as happy with HOWS prices compared to the old Hughes chain. They were definitely more expensive and even though the quality was good, it still didn't beat Hughes.

Re: Disappearing Sizzlers in your area
After a month delay, Sizzler opened the Montebello location yesterday. It was super crowded.
Also, Sizzler will be closing their Norwalk location in the near future, as CalTrans is tearing down the center for a new off ramp for Imperial when they widen the freeway.

Vons recently closed the old Downey location:
10001 Paramount Blvd, Downey--Vons
It is supposed to become a hispanic market.

Noticed the former Pico Rivera CA site on Beverly Boulevard. The site was demolished...yet, the sign is still on the street...painted over in black paint. I recall this had been Pic-N-Save. Believe it had been Smith's Food King prior. Jeff?! Yep. It was closed and demolished for a new shopping ...

Re: Does anybody know what address this Safeway was located?
My first guess would have been the Jons store that is on Glenoaks (since you can see the hills in the background), but looking at the bing maps birdseye view, you can see this store was a marina store, that was openend prior to 1972

Re: Disappearing Sizzlers in your area
The Montebello Sizzler burnt down over a year ago, and recently, they removed the signs on the building. The Sizzler sign on Beverly Blvd though is still there, and they have PODS located still in the parking lot. I don't know if they are planning to reopen eventually or if this is permanently ...

Signage STILL on the building...as nothing has ever changed!
The Industry store has signage on the building as well.
The former Toys R Us / Levitz in Rosemead has been converted and opened a few weeks ago as a UFC Gym.

Gemco and Zodys. We need something else besides a Wal-Mart superstore and Target. Both would compliment them.

Looking at Bing, the Zodys has been subdivided into a Sport Chalet, Bed Bath and beyond and something else I cant see.
The large entry is now in the middle of the two stores and not used anymore, but you can still see it

Odd. I tried looking online for info on this store and got nothing at all, not even an opening date.
