Re: Strange Rite Aid Remodel
The Rite Aid located at 1821 Ygnacio Valley Rd. is now littered with STORE CLOSING & GOING OUT OF BUSINESS signs. To keep this post history related I will post some photos that show the very much unaltered Thrifty interior this store has retained. There is even a few leftovers from when Walgreen...

Re: Safeway in Maine in the 1940s
I'm not doubting that this store was a Safeway but and referring to the location. For what its worth there is no town in Maine called "Lights End".

Re: Safeway in Maine in the 1940s
Safeway was NEVER in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont... This is one of those times when the person must be referring to "Main Street". My Dad and his parents lived in Maine for most of their lives and without any doubt in their or my minds Safeway was never there.

Re: Mayfair Market in Century City
The windows have been phased out largely due to the fact that when the sun shined through it created a very unpleasant experience. Both in the early mornings and late afternoons were like staring into the sun.

Bye Bye Big Boy Market
The former Alpha Beta Market located at 1391 East Yosemite Ave. closed in 1984 and days later reopened under the name BIG BOY MARKET. I'm amazed they (Big Boy) made it this long but the economy finally contributed to part of the reason for its closure...
