I shopped there a couple of times in 1999 - 2000. By then the store had the 1990's red / gray decor. I was surprised that Safeway was able to cram a deli into the store. I even saw the basement (I had to use the restroom.)
The store closed in 2001.

Re: NEW; Anchorage, 1968 and 2018
The 8411 A Street location on your spreadsheet is the Carrs / Safeway warehouse. Carrs will be returning to 600 E. Northern Lights later this year in part of the space formerly occupied by Sears. The former Carrs at the other end of Midtown Mall is now occupied by REI. A couple of historic photos fo...

Re: NEW; Anchorage, 1968 and 2018
131 N Bragaw is the current location of the Mountain View Red Apple Supermarket. The 9th & Gambell and Bragaw Safeways closed when the Northway Mall (Penland Parkway) Safeway opened. The Penland Parkway location was renamed to Carrs after the merger. The 9th & Gambell and West Northern Light...

Anchorage Sears Mall Carrs store to close
The Carrs Quality Center in Anchorage's Sears Mall will close for good on September 12. Opened in 1968, it was the third store in the Carrs chain. The store was not remodeled or replaced along with the other Carrs / Eagle / Safeway stores in Alaska, so I have had a suspicion that it would be closed....

Re: Safeway - Nogales, AZ at the border
I found the answer. It closed in March 1995, apparently because the walk-in traffic from Mexico declined. http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_product=ADSB&s_site=azstarnet&f_site=azstarnet&f_sitename=Arizona+Daily+Star%2C+The+%28AZ%29&p_multi=ADSB&p_theme=gannett&p...

Re: Safeway - Nogales, AZ at the border
Actually I think it was the building now known as the "Ueta Duty Free" store further down the street right at the border crossing. The front is not viewable from Google Street View, but the back is: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Nogales,+AZ&hl=en&ll=31.333952,-110.943387&spn=0...

Re: Stuart Anderson's Black Angus
In Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR many locations were once branded as Cattle Company. Was there a difference other than the name? I don't think so. The Anchorage location is still open as Cattle Company. There is another unrelated restaurant called "Black Angus" in town, which is why I th...

I didn't go in, so I can't say for sure. Since it opened in 2005 though it's probably had the Lifestyle decor inside from day 1.

Re: Eagle Quality Centers
The Seward store was replaced with a Safeway in 2005. I happened to be in Seward the weekend of the grand opening. I have attached some photos showing the old Eagle store with the new Safeway next door. Seward-Eagle Quality Center_download.jpg Seward-new-Safeway-1-download.jpg Seward-Old Eagle New S...

Safeway - Nogales, AZ at the border
When I visited Nogales, Arizona on a college marching band trip in 1992 there was a very old Safeway that was right next to the downtown border crossing. As I recall it was a shoebox style building. The Safeway exterior signage was yellow. The store was quite busy that day as I recall. I did not go ...

Re: Safeway Spokane Location List, 1941
At 2008 Northwest Blvd is a 1940's era Safeway building which is now a Moroccan restaurant called Marrakesh. This store may have replaced the one located up the street.
