Apparently "Super Rite" was never a chain of grocery stores rather, a food distribution company. Rite Aid didn't start the company either. From what I've heard, when Pantry Pride went out of business, Rite Aid acquired one of their food distributors, changed the name of it to "Super ...

Ok, one last short update on this topic for today. After looking through newspaper archives and a quick search through Kroger's old annual reports, apparently this concept wasn't as short lived as one would think.
