I was recently looking through a November 1963 issue of the Columbus (Georgia) Ledger-Enquirer and was surprised to find an ad for Red Dot Stores. There were three locations listed.

Does anyone know anything about these stores? Was it a chain or something local to Columbus?

No, the current Harveys was the former Piggly Wiggly. I can remember as a small boy that my grandmother went to that Piggly Wiggly but did not go to Colonial/Big Star because it was "too expensive." However, I never knew where the Colonial was since I did not live in the area.

That makes a lot of sense. The Giant Marts in Manchester and Talbotton were managed by the same person who lived in that area. The one in Waverly Hall was managed by someone else. I appreciate your help answering the question.
